Why I’m Starting My Online Business Journey with Affiliate Marketing

I recently decided to start documenting my journey into the world of online business, and this blog is where I’ll be sharing what I learn along the way.

For a long time, I’ve been interested in the idea of building something online that gives me more flexibility and creates opportunities beyond a traditional job. Like many beginners, I’ve spent a lot of time researching different business models, watching videos, reading articles, and trying to understand what actually works.

The problem is that there is so much information available that it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

That’s one of the reasons I decided to start this blog. I want to keep track of my progress, share what I’m learning, and hopefully help other beginners who may be looking for a clearer starting point as well.

Why I Chose Affiliate Marketing

After looking at several online business models, affiliate marketing seemed like the most practical place for me to start.

What I like about affiliate marketing is that I don’t need to create my own product, handle customer support, or worry about inventory. Instead, I can focus on learning how to connect people with products and services that may help them.

Of course, I understand that affiliate marketing is not a magic solution. It still requires learning new skills, taking action, and staying consistent over time.

What attracted me most is that affiliate marketing allows beginners to get started without needing a huge budget or years of business experience.

As I continued researching, I noticed something that experienced marketers kept repeating over and over again:

“The money is in the list.”

At first, I didn’t fully understand what that meant.

Now I do.

Why Building an Email List Matters

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned so far is the importance of building an email list.

Many beginners make the mistake of sending traffic directly to an offer. If a visitor doesn’t buy immediately, that opportunity may be lost forever.

When you build an email list, you’re creating an asset that you control.

Instead of hoping someone buys on their first visit, you can continue providing value, sharing information, and building trust over time through email.

That makes a lot more sense to me.

I don’t want to spend time and effort generating traffic only to lose contact with potential customers after one visit.

I’d rather build something that grows over time.

No.

For me, that’s a big step forward.

My plan moving forward is simple.

I’m going to focus on learning the system, building my email list, creating content, and taking consistent action.
